Interview
Q: Origin story — what moment made you pursue music, and what’s the journey been like?
BANLIV: “I’ve always had a musical background, but never pictured myself as a DJ. I spent years as a video producer, building visuals to match a song’s energy. When I started Twitch streaming, people kept telling me they loved the music I’d play. It was a running joke—‘You should DJ.’ Then I started hearing it outside of streaming. I tried it for fun, it clicked, and now I can’t imagine not doing it.”
Q: Dream B2B and why?
BANLIV: “That’s a tough one because there are so many artists I love, but Jekyll & Hyde definitely stands out the most to me. I draw a lot of inspiration from his sound. I think a B2B with him would be so fun.”
Q: First or most-memorable performance?
BANLIV: “Definitely Bass Invasion at Decca Live this past August. The crowd was insane and the energy was unreal. I remember looking up and realizing how many people were in the crowd it was such a wild feeling. That night made me realize this isn’t just something I do for fun anymore, it’s something I want to chase for the long run.”
Q: What energy are you bringing to your Rhythm & Ramps set?
BANLIV: “I’ll be bringing that Halloween energy. Planning to keep things melodic with some heavier moments here and there. Really just here to have a good time with everyone and see the crowd go off in their costumes.”
