Artist Spotlight: N-47 — Rap x EDM, Hype & Homecoming

ree

As Rhythm & Ramps returns to Jacksonville’s legendary Kona Skatepark for a Halloween 18+ blowout, we’re shining the light on N-47 a hometown talent whose sound fuses hip-hop roots with EDM. Runiuni and N-47 go way back: he was with us at our first-ever show and the very first Rhythm & Ramps. Beyond the booth, Nick’s been pivotal in helping Runiuni plug into the Jacksonville community connecting local artists, spreading the word, and rolling up his sleeves for our earliest events.

Runiuni: Origin Story & Journey in Music — What’s the moment or experience that made you want to pursue a career in music? What has your journey been like?

N-47: “I’ve always had a love for Hip-Hop and EDM since a young kid. I remember when I first watched the karate kid movie, I fell in love with the soundtrack and had it on repeat trying to learn the lyrics. My older brother showed me dubstep and EDM when I was about 10 and I would always listen to Skrillex and Virtual Riot tracks in my headphones in middle school. I really decided to start making music when I found Capital Steez and the 47 Pro Era movement. They inspired me more than anything and I’m so thankful they did. My journey so far has been a lot of fun and a lot of blessings and I hope it continues to be that way! It wasn’t always easy but it is worth it!”

Runiuni: If you could B2B with any artist, who and why?

N-47: “I think a Getter b2b would be so much fun. Mainly because we have a very similar music taste and we both have a deep love for Rap & EDM. I think we would just have so much fun up there cutting up together.”

Runiuni: Tell us about either your very first set or your most memorable performance to date — whichever story you’d rather share.

N-47: “My most memorable performance to date is playing at the Roxy in Denver Colorado and getting the whole crowd to chant ‘What’s up’ with me. Unforgettable moment for sure. So much fun being able to bring my music to a new crowd and have it received so well.”

Runiuni: What’s the energy you’re bringing to your Rhythm & Ramps set?

N-47: “The energy I’m bringing to R&R this year is a hype and fun energy. I grew up in Kona skatepark and I’m playing a show with a bunch of my friends so I’m going up there excited to have a good time with everybody. I’ll have some familiar tracks as well as a couple underground bangers and I think it’ll be a good opening to a great night!”
