WHAT IS RUNIUNI AND WHAT IS RHYTHM AND RAMPS?

Updated: Sep 12

Welcome to all the new faces discovering Runiuni for the first time! I'm Sebastian Colon, the founder of Runiuni—which is short for "Our Communities United." From the beginning our idea has been about building a unique social platform that truly facilitates connections among users. As we grow, our focus remains on hosting events that uplift and bring together the Jacksonville community and hopefully expanding to neighboring cities. This post is a gateway to understanding who we are ,what Runiuni stands for and a sneak peek into our exciting upcoming event, "Rhythm and Ramps," featuring the legendary Dack Janiels at Jacksonville’s iconic Kona Skatepark. Join us as we merge the worlds of skateboarding and EDM in a celebration of local talent and community spirit.

What is Runiuni?

Our idea for Runiuni is a social platform that empowers users through a bottom-up system of connection. Unlike traditional social networks that often prioritize global or national content going viral, Runiuni emphasizes local engagement, allowing users to grow organically within their own communities before expanding beyond.

At its core, Runiuni enables users to explore their city or region through a unique hub on the platform. Here, every interaction—whether it's a forum post, an event, or a business listing—influences its visibility and reach within the community. This local-first approach ensures that users can build a solid foundation of support and recognition in their immediate environment.

Runiuni is inclusive of businesses, artists, musicians, and various talents, providing them with the tools to showcase their work and connect with local audiences For example artists can share songs directly in the app and get Spotify streams from people in the area. By gaining popularity locally in the app, users' profiles then elevate to a higher regional level and, ultimately, a broader audience, thanks to our innovative region level system.

What sets us apart is our active focus on events that are not just attended but shaped by the community. From the planning stages to execution, members have a say in what happens, reflecting true community needs and interests. This approach not only fosters deeper connections but also enhances the relevance and impact of every event hosted on the platform.

What is Rhythm and Ramps?

"Rhythm and Ramps" is a vibrant cultural festival at the historic Kona Skatepark, blending music, skateboarding, and community activities into a dynamic experience. This inaugural event features EDM and skateboarding icon Dack Janiels and showcases local Jacksonville talent. Our goal is to foster a series that celebrates and elevates local artists, skaters, and businesses, creating a thriving community. Runiuni is dedicated to expanding this celebration to other cities, enriching communities through creativity and talent.
